Resident Evil Requiem Unveiled, Launching February 2026 Worldwide

Capcom has officially revealed the ninth entry in its long-running survival horror series during Summer Game Fest 2025. Titled Resident Evil Requiem, the latest chapter in the franchise is scheduled to arrive on February 27, 2026. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC platforms.

The announcement trailer introduced a post-apocalyptic version of Raccoon City. A new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft—an FBI technical analyst—is seen probing a spate of eerie deaths. Grace is linked to a familiar name in the Resident Evil universe, as she is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a character last seen in Resident Evil Outbreak.

Capcom’s brief description on its official site highlighted a shift into more immersive and detailed gameplay. Visual elements have been significantly enhanced, including facial realism, skin textures, and ambient effects such as sweat detail. The game returns to the setting that defined the series’ identity, combining elements of psychological horror with high-tension action.

The company noted that Resident Evil Requiem will mark a turning point for the franchise, emphasizing player immersion and character-driven storytelling. More content and gameplay details are set to be unveiled at Gamescom 2025, where the title will have its first hands-on demo.

The previous mainline entry, Resident Evil Village, debuted in 2021. The franchise, first introduced by creators Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara in 1996, continues to evolve while revisiting its roots.
